Breaking The Mental Barrier of Overthinking in Social Media

Learning to switch off an overthinking mind.

Being an overthinker on social media can be challenging to switch off when creating content because you worry about problems that aren’t worth the extra thinking. Overwhelming your mind about crafting the perfect post or how someone will perceive your content will only delay your objective to show up online.

To be honest, the not-so-perfect post can turn out to be your best-performing piece of content. So, begin writing on topics that resonate with you and go from there.  Pushing through with an idea is easier said than done but getting over the anxiety of your first post will allow you to determine how to write and publish content moving forward; this post is proof.

Here are 3 tips to keep in mind when posting:
1. You will make mistakes, but do not stress. Your audience is interested in the quality of your content over simple errors that make you human.
2. Not every idea will be a success, but you do not know the type of content that will work for you unless you try it at least once.
3. Be your authentic self and have fun; the world is waiting to see your unique content, and you shouldn’t deprive them of it.

Remember, “perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence”. – Vince Lombardi. Overthinking is only a temporary mental barrier that can be overcome, so push that post button.
